Colorful Celebrations of the 2nd Convocation of Himalayan University Imparted Hopes and Zing to the Students!

Full-fledged and highly prestigious Himalayan University of Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) celebrated its second glamorous and inspiring Convocation on 21st February 2020 at its lush Jollang campus, with great enthusiasm and flying colors! In addition to the prestigious members of its Board of Management, renowned teaching faculties, administrative staff, and numerous students & scholars, many other dignitaries were also present on this occasion, who are listed below. On the whole, the celebrations were highly enlightening, joyous, and motivating to the ambitious students and research scholars.

The magnificent Convocation ceremony was enthusiastically presided over by Shri Hemant Goyal, Hon’ble Chairman of Himalayan University, and Dr. H.S. Sharma, the Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Along with reading out the annual report of the university, hon’ble vice-chancellor informed that, a total of 1702 degrees would be awarded by the university this year, relating to various educational and professional disciplines and at all varying academic levels. He also optimistically and motivationally informed that, the university had just started functioning in 2013-14 with merely 55 students, and today, university has over 3500 students studying in its various courses conducted at levels varying from diploma and UG to the PG and doctoral.

The State Education Minister, Shri Taba Tedir awarded the gold medals to the topper students and research scholars in various disciplines. He highlighted the various schemes of the State Government at the convocation, which have been designed to elevate the overall standard of higher education in the State. The Special Secretary Education, Shri Santosh Kumar Rai (IAS) strongly urged the students for focusing on their respective targets, and working hard accordingly to achieve the same. Capital SP Tumme Amo put emphasis on the great importance of health and discipline, and firmly advised the students for abstaining from using abusive substances.
